i have been on a personal crusade to discontinue using and purchasing any skin care, beauty care and hair care products that contain chemicals, especially ones that harm our DNA, bodies and more!
some common ingredients like Phenoxyethanol and Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol are BANNED in the European Union and Japan but used rampantly in almost every US product even lines like BURT'S BEES and more than half of the items stocked at Whole Foods beauty section.

Like we do with our foods, we must read ingredient labels on everything--shampoos, lotions, sunscreens and anything from Sephora and the alike.

Easy ones to remember and avoid:
Oxybenzone
Avobenzone
Anything that ends with benzone
Phenoxyethanl
Propolyne and Butyl Glycol
Any kind of Pthalates
Fragrance (unless indicates in asterisks that it is derived from natural essential oils or natural scents)

I'm spelling most of these incorrectly but rule of thumb is if you can't spell nevermind pronounce it then it aint good for ya!
